Performance Tours at the International Gallery

Professional pianists specializing in various musical genres -- classical, jazz, traditional, gospel, and popular -- lead visitors through the exhibitions, talking about and performing on some of the historic pianos.

NMAH museum specialist David Shayt uses Henry Studley's magnificent chest of hand tools on display in the exhibition to discuss the work of the piano maker and some of the most delicate and beautiful hand tools found in any of the skilled trades.

Tactile Tour

Meet at exhibition entrance.

Tactile Tour

Designed for visitors who are blind or have low vision, the tour features tactile and audio components, including a wall of piano parts, action models demonstrating the mechanics of the piano, and a demonstration of several of the 26 keyboards on display.
